What do I do if I want to change my child’s days of care?
If you wish to change, increase, or decrease your child’s days, contact the centre admin office. Parents are required to provide 4 weeks' written notice to decrease days. Any other changes can be made by emailing admin@ganeinu.com.au. We always do our best to accommodate your childcare needs, based on availability.
Is there a minimum number of days I must enrol?
We highly recommend a minimum of 2 days of attendance to enable your child to reach their potential and maximise the social and developmental benefits our educational program offers. We will however offer a one-day enrolment if this suits your needs, based on availability.
When are my fees payable?
Fees are billed fortnightly and must be paid for every day your child is enrolled, including public holidays, if your child is sick or when you are on holidays.
Do we offer make-up days?
We do not offer make-up days for public holidays, if your child is sick or you are away on holidays.
Who do I speak to if I have questions about my child?
We encourage strong communication between class educators and therefore like to provide daily feedback when possible about your child’s day at pick-up or through Kinderm8, our online communication tool. Additionally, the educators will contact you to provide information regarding your child’s development and interests, ensuring we are catering to any personal goals or concerns you may have for your child. We encourage parents to organise a meeting with class educators and centre management if there are any other topics you wish to discuss about your child at any time. This can be organised verbally or by sending an email to admin@ganeinu.com.au.
What is the difference between a preschool and a long day care centre?
The primary difference between a preschool and a long day care centre is the hours of operation. Long day care centres operate long hours (e.g., 7:30 am – 6:00 pm), whereas a preschool typically operates 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. The national Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) ensures that both organisations follow the same educational program. However, operating under a long day care scheme allows families to claim government rebates.
How will I know if my child slept or ate during the day?
We record your child’s sleep and meals for the day in a software system called Kinderm8, available for your viewing at your leisure from your smartphone, tablet, or PC, or directly from educators at pick-up.
What are your daily fees?
Fees vary by age group: 0-2, 2-3, and 3-5, and based on booking times: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, or 7:30 am – 6:00 pm. Our admin team will be able to let you know what fees to expect based on your particular usage needs. Your out-of-pocket costs will depend on the level of childcare subsidy from the government.
Additional Childcare Subsidy is available for the second and subsequent child enrolled in childcare. To understand the government subsidy, head to this government website: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/child-care-subsidy
Do you close on Jewish holidays?
Yes, we close on Jewish holidays and provide a calendar of closure dates for the following year to allow you to plan around it and facilitate booking casual days to help you catch up on your work if needed. We do not charge for the Jewish holidays on which we are closed.
